Teenage lab rats

By

The number of millennials over the years I’ve met that went through some form of the troubled teen industry is quite alarming and not discussed nearly enough.

Paris Hilton and her work with legislators has shown light onto the school side of the industry but often the psychiatric side of that coin is not given the same exposure.

By 12 I had been put on psychiatric medication for what they were calling at that point “anxiety”. I needed a therapist I could connect with and a fucking hug, not SSRI medications which then progressed to a klonopin prescription.

Over the years the prescriptions and incorrect diagnosis’s started at a rapid fire rate. By 29 years old I had been on over 75 medications, literally all of them were unnecessary it turns out.

Millennials were big pharma’s lab rats when it comes to psych meds. You know how now there’s warnings on all the commercials for antidepressants that they aren’t meant for teens or young adults? Thank your local messed up millennial for that warning as they were likely part of the studies.

Hell I was given a prescription for suboxone in 2004 by an addiction doctor before I had ever even done opiates (for the record my reaction was that I knocked out and couldn’t wake up for the life of me). Some of the side effects from these meds included extreme weight gain, seizures, muscle spasms, leg twitching, ticks, and the list goes on. Some of these side effects were permanent.

I’ll go more into my time in the troubled teen industry and explaining how they used insane therapy methods on some of us (they didn’t work just a heads up).

Have you heard of the troubled teen industry? If so what have you heard?

It’s a complex machine that every parent of young children NEEDS to be aware of. Prevention is key and these industries target desperate parents who don’t know any better. My mother was a nurse and they managed to fool her (she admits now she wasn’t aware of what had actually been going on at least which is more validation than other products of the TTI get).

Have you even seen Paris Hiltons work in congress? It’s worth checking out if not!
