Gratitude List 10/29

By

I’m grateful for health insurance coverage. Can’t say how long I’ll have it this time around but temporarily while I’ve got coverage I’ve got a little bit of peace. In the last 8 years I’ve had my health insurance taken away from me 6 times, all while being chronically ill and fucking piss poor. To say that our healthcare system being for profit is working is a crock of shit.

I’m grateful for my landlord. Ya normally I’m not one to lick the boot but the man actually fixes stuff and doesn’t over charge on rent- which I appreciate. I’ve had some horrific landlords over the years and this guys literally the best we have found to rent from (dude is going to have to pry my dead carcass out of here because I’ll never find a mortgage for the price I get rent for).

I’m grateful for blankets, there is no such thing as too many of them. *Just a tip for those that are homeless or could become homeless within the next few months- trash bags are a great way to keep warm. You layer over concrete a cardboard box (don’t ask me the science behind it) but you want cardboard between the ground and the first layer of covering. Inside a sleeping bag you put yourself in a plastic trash bag- it works as insulation with the cardboard to protect you from the cold and trap your body heat. If you’re in a city check for areas with heated grates: go NEAR the grates but do not sleep on them as you can get burnt.

I’ve been working on struggle meals and budgeting tips next, stay tuned👀
