I’m grateful that I managed to weasel Halloween off to take my kids trick or treating. One thing people do not understand is that when people live in inner cities there is no door to door trick or treating. You have to drive out to areas where people have 401ks and garages with multiple vehicles to have the magic of Halloween (again that’s something you don’t realize til you’re lower income but it’s a privilege to just walk out your door and be able to trick or treat in neighborhoods at all).
I’m grateful that I managed to pull this homemade juice box costume out of my ass last minute when my youngest informed us of her alphabet parade at school. I’m such a perfectionist the homemade things are usually one I avoid at all costs. In this economy though I wasn’t buying a 5th costume just to have it worn for one day (the usual Halloween costumes we size up and get more than a year of regular play out of them which is a tip most people probably don’t think of if they don’t live somewhere that’s freezing by October)

I’m grateful I’ve actually managed to stay off that nicotine vape for 13 days now! I’m not having sugar cravings yet, my stomach pain is substantially better, and now I’m going to look like the looney tunes going in for my consult next week without any of the symptoms I had 2 weeks ago🤡
Unfortunately due to the current administration and potential insurance premium crisis I’m not in a position to play where’s Waldo with health issues and chew thru that deductible I’m now forced to pay after losing my secondary insurance coverage.
Pretty shitty to have 3 jobs between 2 people I still have genuine fear I’m going to lose insurance coverage yet again🥴
Do you have any plans for Halloween?
🚨If you saw that stupid meme about giving out ramen instead of candy- please don’t do that. If you want to give food items put it in a separate box labeled for parents. Food insecurity issues don’t need to be projected onto a kids holiday, let the kids be fucking kids and if you want to help do it separately not in replacement of.
