I’m grateful for having working heat. I need to remind myself of my time sleeping outside and in the basement of my old job during winter months and how fucking cold it actually was. Heat may be crazy expensive but to even be able to have access to turn it on is a blessing I can’t take for granted. Not having to risk my life sleeping in front of an open/on gas oven or using space heaters that could have killed us is something I sometimes forget about.

I’m grateful for days off, it’s very rare I get a full day off so I try to take advantage when I can.

I’m grateful for my coworkers. They truly are an amazing group of people and some days I think they are the only reason I even go to work. For reference, in November of last year I was illegally fired by the former owner, and after spending 5 months desperately looking for another job I managed to get back into the old job when they changed ownership of the restaurant. I was sooooo excited to come back and with returning even though there’s still restaurant drama and chaos it’s like coming home (some have been working there since 1999 for Christ’s sake, it’s a solid crew that I was blessed to be let into).
