Last week was my follow up with the GI specialist for the results of all the biopsies I had back in the middle of November.
To recap-
October 15th I ended up in the ER with what felt like a baseball in my ass, I was shitting quarts of blood I stupidly thought was oil🤡 and was freaking out. I quit vaping nicotine that weekend.
I truly believe that all of the improvements came from the removal of the nicotine. There’s no medical explanation for any of my symptoms I was having (extreme pain when eating, horrific diarrhea, weight loss).
The doctor in 2012 was wrong about the celiac, my biopsies all came back normal and the only thing that was evident was some acid damage from my insane addiction to energy drinks. The weight loss was likely because I was starving to death removing gluten from my diet😬🫣
The doctor did recommend giving myself another month on the antacid and then to attempt to wean myself off, if I need to stay on it long term that is an option as well.
I have started to finally gain weight thanks to the addition of the antidepressant at the beginning of the month (which is expected and normal for that medication), and overall I feel I’ve returned the closest to normal that I can.
I don’t think I’ll ever get any actual answers about the blood or why I was having horrific pain when eating but I’ll take the feeling normal again and just shut up about it.
I am NOT going to return to drinking energy drinks or vaping nicotine again, my lesson has been learned. Hopefully sharing my experience with this one will help even one person🤞🏻
