The dentist today didn’t provide the answers I needed.

I spent 2.5 hours with a grown man’s hand jammed in my mouth running all types of tests on my teeth.

In the end I left with a script for 5 Oxys and a referral to another specialist for a 3D scan. The referral literally says “we are not able to conclude diagnosis”. They discovered there’s 3 teeth on my top right side that are problematic but they can’t see as much as they need to on the X-ray so they are sending me somewhere else for the 3D scan.

The swelling is unbearable and I just want to be able to go to work.

The office for the 3D scan can’t see me until the 18th (over a week). In the meantime I’m supposed to continue the antibiotic I’m technically allergic to and just pray it actually works (I’m doubtful that’s going to happen but they are claiming that’s the strongest one available), and I’m following up with my PCP Friday for a refill on the oxys to hold me over thru the weekend so I can hopefully be able to work.

I have zero faith in the healthcare/dental system at this point and I’m actively writing all the places I’ve been seen at, medications given, dates and dosing because I’m expecting to die before I get help and I want my husband to be able to sue for malpractice when I do inevitably kick the bucket from this.

Sounds dark but I do not have any faith in the providers I’ve seen this past week and I am genuinely concerned that I am not going to survive this one. I’ve lost over 10 teeth and have never experienced this kind of pain or swelling before, it’s terrifying.

I gotta say even the concern of dying from teeth issues is pretty fucking whack when I used to IV fentanyl for funsies. I have been photographing my swelling, I am not posting that publicly as I look like a freak of nature and don’t need that kind of shaming at the moment.
